BFTV integrates problem solving, writing and video editing to produce student-generated projects. Students learn many aspects to video production, such as filming and editing with the use of the I-Movie program, using a digital camera, planning and writing storyboards and script development. Our computer technology allows students to demonstrate their learning through clip selection, graphic designing, audio mixing and a host of other editing tools.
The students work in-groups to prepare club promos, produce public service announcements and cover special school events. Successful projects earn airtime on our BFBN broadcast that airs daily.
Other skills covered are media literacy, Internet research, writing for television, interviewing, public speaking and word processing. This elective is open for all eighth graders.
